Nitrogen Application and Dense Planting to Obtain High Yields from Maize

The rational application of nitrogen fertilizer and close planting are two important ways to obtain high yields efficient growth from maize (Zea mays L.). This study utilized the varieties DengHai 618 XianYu 335 as test materials 2019 2020 variety material in 2021. densities were 7.5 × 104 plants ha?1 12.0 ha?1, respectively. Application rates within range 0–765 kg per 45 considered gradient. results showed that rate increased, yield increased at first then tended remain flat. Under conditions density, best was 17.6–20.2 t required 219–337 ha?1. 18.7–21.9 243–378 With increase rate, dry matter weight a linear/platform relationship each period. obtained for accumulation various stages by fitting different stages. It is concluded when density recommended 340 distribution ratio before after silking 61.2% 38.8%, When 380 flowering 65.8% 34.2%, In summary, increasing can improve yield, amount applied should be flowering.
